ABOUT

I am MoMo, a Chicago-born, San Diego-based contemporary visual artist, graphic designer, electronic music producer, DJ, and independent publisher. By day, I work as a professional visual designer and brand systems strategist, building identities and creative strategies that stay cohesive across digital, print, packaging, and experiential environments.

 

Independently, I am the founder and creative director of runningoutofspace™, my art, design, and sound studio, which serves as the publishing arm and imprint platform for my original work.

 

My practice spans art direction, typography, illustration, photography, sound, fabrication, and immersive technologies, blending traditional craftsmanship with contemporary methods. Rooted in illustration and contemporary art, with a BA in graphic design and a lifelong involvement as a purveyor of curated sound, I let my design work support my creative practice. Through it, I independently produce fine art, functional design, artist edition collectibles and designer objects, vinyl records, prints, ephemera, digital and printed media, mixed media experiments, and other small-run, artisan-crafted cultural and lifestyle goods.

 

As a professional designer, independent multidisciplinary artist, and purveyor of curated sound, I take on client work while continuing to build my own brand, often switching between multiple hats and roles. This keep me active and current as a working professional in the post-digital era.
